Use of Anesthetics: Topical anesthetics are used to numb the area to be tattooed. Lidocaine, Prilocaine, Benzocaine, Tetracaine and/or Epinephrine creams and/or liquids are used. Please advise me if you are allergic.
Pain: There can be pain even after the topical anesthetic had been used. Anesthetics work better on some people than on others.
Swelling and/or Bruising: Some people bruise or swell more than others. Ice packs may help reduce the swelling. The swelling/bruising typically disappears in 1-5 days. Some people don’t swell or bruise at all.
Infection: Infection is very unusual. The areas treated must be kept clean and only freshly cleaned hands should touch the treated area. See “After Care” sheet for instructions on care.
Allergic Reactions: Allergic Reactions are very rare. A reaction could be from topical anesthetics, mapping cosmetics, PMU pigments or aftercare products. A list of all allergies and skin sensitivities needs to be provided. If an allergic reaction should occur: discontinue aftercare ointments, contact your primary care physician and me @580-704-6052. For anaphylactic, seek emergency care.
Uneven Pigmentation: This can result from poor healing, infection, bleeding, picking or many other causes. Independent results vary upon age, skin condition and lifestyle. Your follow-up appointment will likely correct any uneven appearance.
Asymmetry: Every effort will be made to avoid asymmetry, but our faces are not symmetrical so adjustments may be needed at the follow up session to correct any unevenness.
Healing: Complete healing takes place 4-6 weeks after initial procedure. You must have realistic expectations. Do not expect to have perfectly healed looking brows/liner/lips immediately after procedure. Expect darker, bolder, and thicker. Do not be alarmed your tattoo will heal beautifully during the healing phase (4-6 weeks) with proper homecare.
This is a Cosmetic Tattoo Procedure, the alternative to the listed possibilities is to use traditional cosmetics and NOT undergo this procedure. Cosmetic tattooing is considered SEMI-permanent and will need regular touch-ups to stay fresh.
Cosmetic tattooing is an art not a science. Your initial 6-10 week touch up is included (minor adjustments only, complete change in shape will require additional fee)
